the Latvian government Central Election Commission site: www.cvk.lv. Some, but not all, of the information is in English
as well as in Latvian.
There is also information about the elections in Latvian and English in the
latest ALA Infogram.
For those who are interested in reading (in Latvian) some deeper analyses
of those parties with realistic chances of being elected to the Saeima
(Latvian parliament) we remind you the the Latvian-American newspaper Laiks
often contains articles about the elections. Especially worthwhile (in the
view of this webmaster) is a series of articles by Dainis Lemešonoks , which
began in the Jul. 29-Aug. 4.issue and has continued with weekly analyses about
the parties (so far) TP, ZZS, JL, TB/LNNK, LPP/LC, "Russian parties"
- PCTVL & SC, and LSDSP. The Latvian newspaper Diena has
compiled its reportage, analyses, party programs, candidate lists and
other information about the elections onto a separate web site www.vdiena.lv
on which the entire content is available for free. We recommend that
voters view this site. Articles and discussion in English about the
elections may be found on www.latviansonline.com
.
